COVID-19 GUIDELINES ON EVACUATION FROM TANZANIA TO NAIROBI, KENYA AND EVACUATION WITHIN
TANZANIA
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the outbreak of Novel Corona Virus (2019-nCoV) to be a
pandemic and a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) based on the advice of the Emergency
Committee under the International Health Regulations (2005).
In the event that we are requested to evacuate a member suspected to have signs and symptoms of Covid-19, we
are required to request for a medical report prior to carrying out any procedure and then follow the country
guidelines on emergency protocols. We also notify the receiving hospital to confirm acceptance of the patient
within a facility in Tanzania. This is subject to availability of beds in receiving hospitals. However, all approvals of
COVID and non-Covid cases are subject to clearances from the relevant traffic control authorities especially when
crossing from one country space to another. The Ministry of Health's guidelines are to be complied with as this is a
pandemic.
If a patient wants to be evacuated to Kenya the following protocols have to be met:
1. Approval letter from Kenyan embassy in Dar-es-Salaam
2. Clearance by Kenyan Immigration Authority - Kenyan side
3. Patients Medical report
4. Patients Travel documents
5. COVID-19 test results or Certificate (up to 7 days)
6. Acknowledgement letter from receiving hospital showing availability of bed in receiving hospital. *For positive
patients Ministry of Health Country guidelines apply.
7. Admitting Hospital contact at place of destination
If an emergency arises to a client who has been confirmed to be positive for Covid-19 and the above requirements
met, or the set guidelines by the country where the client is to be evacuated to are complied with, then the patient
will be evacuated.
For Evacuation within Tanzania, the following have to be presented:
1. Patient’s information (Name, Age, Membership Number, Sex)
2. Patient’s medical report/condition
3. Contacts of the medical team/ hospital where the patient will be admitted

for more details of the above, please contact us during booking time.
