Crazy Monday Jam Session is kicking off again!
After 8 years at the Red Monkey Lodge our team will move to a new location with a bigger stage, more space and with upgraded f&b service with longer working hours!
From 3.08, for the time being for the month of august, Crazy Monday will be at Coral Rocks Hotel, only a few hundred meters away on the same stunning beach of Mfumbwi and the historic location of the afterparty.
Over the last 8 years, since starting Crazy Monday Jam Session with one guitar and a halfway working speaker, we had unforgettable musical moments with incredible artists.
From early listening concerts to explosive dancefloors we have seen it all.
Some of the most epic evenings have been thanks to the diverse local talents using Crazy Monday as an experimental stage to develop collaborations.
Since 2011 we have also had the honour to host diverse more known artists among which Joss Stone, Cleveland Watkiss, Oliver Mtukudzi, Dele Sosimi (Fela Kuti), Philippe Cohen Solal (Gotan Project), Richard Dorfmeister (K&D), Igor Cavalera, Msafiri Zawose, Makadem, Tcheka, Derek Gripper, Sona Jobarteh, Koku Gonza, Siti & the Band, Ekow Alabi (Ebo Tyalor), Omar Perry, Dawda Jobarteh, Morten Schantz, Dom Pipkin (Morcheeba), Ariel Zamonsky (Shabaka Hutchings), Eric Wainana, Leon Michael King, Moussa Diallo, Koku Gonza and so many more from far and near – a special mention goes to the great artists and students from the Dhow Music Academy, Zanzibar’s leading institution for music education.
Crazy Monday is also proud to have sponsored numerous workshops and retreats for the benefit of the local creative scene that involved a multitude of labels, producers, journalists, bookers and other stakeholders from the international creative scene.
We have a very special place in our heart for the magic night with the late Oliver Mtukudzi & Adel Dabo jamming together – may they rest in peace.
Stay tuned - we will continue to develop this platform for local and international artists and want to build further on our reputation as one of the top regular live music events in the region.
Currently there is work in progress on our first release with some of the best recordings made over the years.
