Day 1: Dar Es Salaam

We will pick you up from the airport when your flight lands and then transfer you to Hotel Slipway to rest before your safari. This accommodation includes a bed and breakfast only. Pick-up time tomorrow morning will be at 0500hrs, so be sure to rest well tonight!

Hotel Slipway has ideally located just 7km from the Dar es Salaam city centre on the posh Msasani peninsula, right on the Indian Ocean overlooking Msasani Bay. It offers best value for money accommodation in this upmarket neighborhood.

Day 2: Dar es Salaam - Selous Game Reserve
Today you will be picked up at 0500hrs to start safari to Selous Game Reserve. You will arrive for lunch and later go for a boat safari you will meet with our guide and then depart on a game drive. At 1800hrs you will make your way to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

The ride from dar es salaam to The Selous game reserve is approx 5 hours. The Great Selous game reserve
Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve and one of the favourite game viewing areas in Africa. Covering 50,000 square kilometres is amongst the largest protected areas in Africa and is relatively undisturbed by human impact
The Selous is a superb safari destination for both family safaris and African honeymoons.

Day 3: Selous Game Reserve
You will spend the full day on a game drive within Selous Game Reserve, so named after the explorer Frederick Selous. Selous is the largest protected wildlife reserve and a UN World Heritage site. Its topography varies from rolling savannah woodland to grassland plain and rocky outcrops cut by the Rufiji River and its tributaries. Later you will explore the bush during a walking safari with an armed ranger and/or Maasai guide. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Before we drive in for a game, will go on a walking safari before breakfast, then proceed.

Day 4: Selous - Mikumi National Park
In the morning you will drive to Mikumi National Park via Northern Selous. Whilst on safari you will see a wide variety of bird species, zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland antelope, giraffe, buffalo and elephants. If you are lucky you may also be able to spot lions, leopards and African wild dogs. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day and dinner and your overnight stay at Mikumi park cottages.

Day 5: Explore Mikumi National Park
Enjoy a full day of game drive in Mikumi National Park. You will eat a picnic lunch at midday and get the chance to see some of what you missed on the first day in the park. Your dinner and overnights stay will be at the Mikumi Park cottages which are located inside the park. The park is in a remote and hardly visited part of the country where visitors can see a wild and expansive part of Africa. You may also have the hamper time to reach Udzungwa Mountains National Park which is so famous for having a variety of birds live here, including many regional endemic like the Udzungwa forest partridge, which was new to science 1991. A quarter of the plants here are endemic, including Sait pallia species, closely related to African violets. There are also endemic amphibians, reptiles and butterflies. We hope that you will enjoy a lot during those memorable times by travelling with us.

Day 6: Mikumi National Park - Udzungwa National Park
Today you will depart for Udzungwa Mountain National Park, arriving in the afternoon. Take part in a half-day of hiking and bird watching in the pristine rain forest. Later you will trek towards the Sanje waterfalls for spectacular views of the wide Kilombero Valley. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Udzungwa twiga hotel on bed and breakfast.

Sanje waterfall. One of the larger waterfalls in Tanzania located a short distance from the eastern border of Udzungwa mountains national park. It serves as an easily reached hiking destination for tourists, secluded from the rest of the world by the dense rain forest.

Day 7: Udzungwa - Ruaha National Park
After breakfast you will depart for Ruaha National Park, eating lunch en-route. You will arrive in the afternoon and participate in a half-day game drive before heading to Ruaha cottages for dinner and your overnight stay inside the park
stay inside the park offers a lot of time to see the animals while stays close to them.

Ruaha National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania followed by the Serengeti plain, Ruaha national park is the best np to visit during the dry season, and not advised to visit during the rainy season. There is so much to see when staying inside. Big groups of elephants lions giraffes gazelle just to mention a few.

Day 8: Ruaha National Park
Today you will experience extensive game drives in Ruaha National Park in order to explore its topography and wildlife. Ruaha is the second largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania. The great Ruaha River, which flows along its entire eastern border, creates spectacular gorges and scenery and features a large number of hippos and crocodiles. Special animals that inhabit the park include both the greater and lesser kudu and the roan and sable antelope. Birdlife is also rich, with over 370 species recorded. Your dinner and overnight will be at Ruaha cottages.

Day 9: Ruaha National Park - Dar es salaam
After breakfast, we will depart the lodge and spend another few hours of game drive in Ruaha National Park. You will depart the park by coastal flight to Dar es salaam. Coastal departs 1145 - 1345 from Ruaha - Msembe airstrip to Dar or Zanzibar.
Fly to znz may cost extras. We can decide to drive back to Dar es salaam. No extra cost.

This will be the end of this tour.
