13 spacious walk-in tents create an intimate atmosphere for not more than 40 guests. All tents are appointed with running water, flush toilets, hot and cold water showers and also electric lights and mosquito nets. While featuring the amenities of a big lodge, Mapito’s colonial style creates an authentic old days hunter’s camp ambience.

The camp’s name comes from the Swahili word ‘mapito’ which means path or track. And it got its name for good reason, since the annual Wildebeest and Zebra Migration literally passes through the camp. Make yourself comfortable in your luxury tent, accompanied by the laugh of a hyena or the roaring of a lion. Mapito Tented Camp is located at Ikoma, right outside the actual boundaries of Serengeti National Park (refer to violet dot in the map).This allows guests to go on Bush Walks and Night Game Drives, which are prohibited within the park. Its location in the center of the Serengeti Eco System makes all parts of Serengeti are accessible within short time.
