new visa process updates
New Visa Process at Kilimanjaro
Kilimanjaro Airport has introduced new processes for travellers obtaining visas on arrival. These changes require multiple queues and have resulted in some travellers waiting in excess of 2 hours.
With this change in place, we strongly encourage all clients to obtain their visa online in advance of arrival at
https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/
E-visas typically take 2 – 3 weeks to be issued. This is particularly important for Kilimanjaro arrivals due to the new processes in place and the delays, but is advisable for arrivals into all ports which accept e-visas: Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Namanga road border with Kenya, and Tunduma road border with Zambia. Arrivals from the Masai Mara into Tarime Isebania can use e-visas but the border post is not fully set up to process these so visas on arrival may be best there.
We ask you to please make sure all of your clients travelling to Tanzania are aware of this change, and encourage them to get visas in advance of travel if at all possible.
Please see below a How To document with useful information about visas and e-visas for both Tanzania and Kenya. Of course, any questions, please ask your Agent Relationship Manager.
